Getting to Know You

What topics do you enjoy speaking on the most?

I absolutely love speaking about anything sales-related, specifically discussing lead generation and how to close your favorite clients. I want to break the mold of our industry feeling like “selling is scary” or “icky.” I think we hear the word and think of the door-to-door salesperson and go – I don’t want to seem “sales-y” when talking about getting new clients. When really discussing lead generation of how you’re going to find those clients can be extremely fun and a way to engage them into long-life relationships. I also absolutely love speaking about methods to have your prospects close the sale! This is such a passionate place to make it about your prospect and mindset to ask open-ended questions and give them the power to choose which of your services best suits them. At the end of the day for me, sales can be fun and exciting…. I want people to fall in love with their numbers and remind them that you have the sales trait if you: love what you do, are excited to talk about the experience you can give to your clients, and always make it about the clients you are speaking with.

What topic would you love to tackle next?

Business planning! I am so passionate about this topic and want to help others with implementing this in your business. This is something I see all of the time that people do not take the time to set aside time in their calendar to plan on a yearly and quarterly basis. People keep it all in their heads, and you can’t have a plan or be the guide in your business if you’re not writing it down and constantly looking at it. I want there to be an open discussion about business planning and diving into your numbers. If you are terrified to look at your bank account or budget how can you make decisions for your business to grow? Or how many clients you need to be sustainable instead of stressing when leads are coming in or you’re exhausted because your focus is on the current wedding boom we are having right now and then when it slows down again you haven’t planned to fill up your sales pipeline. Business planning gets you off of the hamster wheel.

How would you describe your speaking style?

Candid, funny, engaging packed with personal stories and tips that will help you move forward in your business or takeaways that you can implement immediately to have sustainable growth. At the end of the day, I want attendees to leave feeling that I resonated with them and they are inspired to use their “sales muscles.” It truly is an honor and I am so grateful to see others in our industry do amazing things in their business or jobs that can make an impact from the content I am putting out into the world.

What has been your favorite speaking engagement to date?

My heart goes to my Strategic Business Planning Retreat I do every year for my MM entrepreneurs. They are my people for sure and watching the breakthroughs and growth they have within those two days is so powerful.

I absolutely loved speaking at Wedding MBA this year and the high level of energy that came for the crowd was amazing!

When heading to a wedding industry conference, I never leave home without my….

Besides my color-coded speaker packing list and my red computer (red is my fave color), I would say it’s my Clinique Intense Chocolate Eyeliner. I have been wearing this since I was 15 and it would also be one of the three things that I would take to a deserted island, too!

Where would you love to speak next?

The Knot Pro and Engage! are on my bucket list for sure!
